For years, I struggled with binge drinking - I thought it was normal, harmless, and just part of ‘party culture’. That was until I realized how damaging it really was to my overall health and wellbeing.
I was a binge drinker. I LOVED going out on the weekends and getting drunk, often to the point of blackout. But even when I wasn’t drinking heavily, just socially at work happy hours, on dates, and at group dinners with friends, I started to learn and see how alcohol was holding me back. After this realization, drinking became a source of shame. I knew it was bad for me but I kept drinking anyways. I was so tired of waking up spiraling about what I said or did the night before, spending my valuable free time hungover, and feeling like crap for multiple days after drinking.
That is when I finally said enough is enough and did a month challenge to see what life would be like without booze. It was what sparked my interest in cutting back. Eventually, I decided to step it up and took 3 months off alcohol back in 2022. It was hands-down the most transformational experience of my life. I reconnected to my authentic self, felt the depths of my emotions, and learned to navigate life clear-headed. It ultimately put me on a trajectory to a better, more fulfilling life.
Now, as a Sober-Curious Life Coach based in San Diego, CA, I’m dedicated to helping other women who are looking for a healthier, more authentic way to live.
